DNS or domain name system is an essential component of the Internet. DNS provides a sytem of translating domain names (computer hostnames) to IP addresses and also lists mail exchange servers accepting e-mail for each domain.

Registering a domain name, setting up the DNS and managing it is an important part of hosting a domain yourself.
